Encompassing these research interests, she is keen to develop innovative strategies and interventions to enhance patient engagement and improve adherence to prescribed telemedicine therapies. The integration of comprehensive datasets, robust quantitative analyses alongside qualitative insights provides a holistic understanding of adherence behaviour, identifying key barriers and enablers, offering an evidence-based foundation for exploring strategies to improve adherence rates, leading to more effective digital health interventions.
Meritxell is currently the Principal Investigator of two European projects and is involved in a FIS (Fondo de Investigación en Salud) project. She is also the Principal Investigator or a collaborating researcher in six research projects. She is a member of the steering committee for the Health AI programme of the Government of Catalonia and has participated in multiple national and international digital transformation projects.
