About
Dr Ioana Vlad is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), currently studying the determinants of adherence to digital therapeutics. She is interested in how these tools that draw on digital innovation can be integrated effectively into existing healthcare pathways while offering new models of care that help patients and health professionals treat, prevent or manage disease.
She is a versatile public health researcher with a mixed methods background in the uptake of technology in health systems and the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases. Prior to this, she worked as Senior Policy Research Manager at World Cancer Research Fund International, where she focused on diet and physical activity interventions for primary and tertiary prevention of cancer. She obtained a PhD degree in Public Health Policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she focused on the institutionalisation of health technology assessment and more generally on the use of evidence in public health policy.
