About
Dr Pol Torres Alvarez leads the energy research line in the Technological Unit of Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI) at Eurecat. He has a PhD in Physics focused on materials science and statistical physics as well as a Master in Nanotechnology and Materials Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He holds a Bachelor of Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona and a Bachelor of Energy Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. He is specialist in developing predictive analytical models and simulation algorithms, with more than 11 years of experience.
Pol currently develops and coordinates projects in R&D in the field of data analysis, optimisation and artificial intelligence applied to the industry and energy sectors. He has collaborated in several international research groups including the Department of Energy Conversion and Storage at Denmark Technical University (Denmark), the Electronic Engineering Group in the Birck Nanotechnology Center (USA) or the Thermal Energy Engineering Lab in The University of Tokyo (Japan). He also has published one book on the thermal transport of semiconductors as well as several articles in high impact journals.
