Professor Nasser Bagheri is Professor of Epidemiology and Health Services Research and a recipient of an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellowship. He leads a spatial epidemiology team and the Visualisation and Decision Analytics (VIDEA) lab at the University of Canberra. His research has focused on chronic disease risk assessment, particularly dementia, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, mental health and multiple sclerosis. He has a particular interest in health care ecosystem approach, spatial variation and quantifying the impact of modifiable risk factors including lifestyle and built environment, on chronic disease risk using big data and complex data set analyses.
Nasser’s research is also focused on decision support tools for the analysis of complex health systems and policy in mental health and dementia. He is coordinating the first Integrated Atlas of Dementia Care project for mapping dementia care provision in ACT region. He has also contributed to the Integrated Atlas of Mental Health Projects for mapping mental health provision which has been used in 34 countries around the world.
